Record Google Meet without a bot
Yes. Blurt records Google Meet from your own computer, so no notetaker joins and you don't need a paid Workspace plan or organizer permission. Join Meet in your browser as usual, and when it ends you get a transcript, named speakers, a summary and next steps.

Every way to record Google Meet,
compared.
Meet's own recording needs a paid Google Workspace plan and organizer permission, so it isn't available on free Gmail accounts. A notetaker bot shows up in the call. Blurt needs neither.

The details
people ask about.
Any browser, no extension.
Meet runs in the browser, and Blurt records what your computer plays. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Arc all work, and there's nothing to install in the browser, so nothing breaks when Meet updates.
Free Gmail accounts: works.
Google only offers Meet recording on certain paid Workspace plans. Blurt works the same on a free Gmail account, including calls where you're a guest in someone else's workspace.
Someone else's workspace: fine.
Guests usually can't use a host's recording or Gemini notes. Blurt records from your computer, so it works in client and partner meetings as well as your own.
Meet on Linux: fully supported.
Meet in Chrome or Firefox on Linux works, with system audio captured through PipeWire or PulseAudio. Most bot-free notetakers don't support Linux at all.
