If any of your computers run Linux, this is usually the deciding question. Blurt installs from Flathub, AUR, .deb, .rpm or AppImage, records system audio through PipeWire or PulseAudio, and syncs the same archive with your Mac and Windows machines.

Where is your audio processed?
Granola processes your meetings in its cloud. Blurt transcribes on your own computer by default, and only uses its cloud if you turn it on.
Neither app puts a bot in your call. The difference is what happens next. With Granola, audio is sent to its servers for transcription. With Blurt, transcription runs locally on your CPU or GPU and works offline; Blurt Cloud is an opt-in for best-model summaries and sync.
Both write excellent notes. Granola shines if you like typing along; Blurt shines if you want every point linked to its source.
Granola's signature is a notepad: you jot rough notes and it fills in the rest from the transcript. It's genuinely great. Blurt takes a different approach: a clean transcript with named speakers and chapters, and a summary where every point links back to the moment it was said, so you can check it in one click.

Can you dictate with Granola?
No. Granola is for meetings only. Blurt also does dictation: hold a key in any app, talk, and clean text lands at your cursor.
If you'd otherwise pay for a separate dictation app, such as Wispr Flow at $12–15 a month, Blurt replaces both, and dictation works on Linux too.

Which is better for teams?
Today, Granola. Its shared Spaces, CRM integrations and enterprise controls are more mature.
Blurt's Team plan covers shared folders, team search, admin-enforced consent notices and retention policy, which suits small teams well. If your company runs on HubSpot or Attio and wants meeting notes pushed there automatically, Granola is the better fit right now. If your team is on Linux, or can't send audio to a third-party cloud, Blurt is.
