Blurt is an independent app made by Zak and launched in 2026. It's a bot-free meeting recorder and dictation app for Mac, Windows and Linux that transcribes on your own computer by default and syncs encrypted across every machine you use.
I spend a lot of my week on calls. For years my notes were either typed during the meeting, so I was only half listening, or pieced together afterwards from memory.
The AI notetakers fixed the writing but added a new problem: a bot in the room. Clients noticed it, some asked me to remove it, and I never loved sending their conversations off to be processed somewhere I couldn't see.
I wanted something that simply listened from my own computer, wrote clean notes, and kept them mine. And it had to work on every machine I use, including the Linux laptop most tools ignore.
So I built it. Blurt records from my own computer, writes notes I can check against the transcript, syncs encrypted across every machine, and lets me dictate anywhere in between. I use it every day, and I hope it gives you your attention back.
